Senior Hamas Official Saleh Al Arouri Martyred in Attack in Southern Beirut

Beirut, Lebanon: In a tragic incident on Tuesday night in southern Beirut, a senior Hamas figure, Saleh Al Arouri, was killed in what Hamas has described as a "treacherous Zionist airstrike." The announcement was made by Hamas media outlet Al Aqsa TV, confirming the death of the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas.

Al Arouri, known as one of the founding members of the group's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, had been based in Beirut. The Israeli army had previously demolished his house in the occupied West Bank town of Aroura in October.

During that operation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) explained that the action was taken to demolish the residence of Saleh al-Arouri, who served as the deputy head of the Hamas terrorist organization’s political bureau and oversaw Hamas' activities in Judea and Samaria.

Former Israeli envoy to the United Nations, Danny Danon, publicly congratulated the Israeli security and intelligence agencies for the assassination of Saleh Al Arouri.

“I congratulate the IDF, the Shin Bet, the Mossad, and the security forces for killing senior Hamas official Salah al-Aaruri in Beirut,” Danon stated. “Anyone who was involved in the 7/10 massacre should know that we will reach out to them and close an account with them,” he added.

The death of Saleh Al Arouri marks a significant development in the ongoing tensions between Hamas and Israel, further escalating the geopolitical landscape in the region. The circumstances surrounding the attack are likely to be closely scrutinized in the coming days, as both sides assess the implications of this targeted operation.
